Match your outfit to your make-up!

29 May

It’s probably clear that I like a bit of co-ordination – suits, colour blocked outfits… you get the gist! But now I’ve had a new idea…

I’ll match my make-up to my outfit!

There are so many great fashiony make-up trends out there right now, they’re every bit as desirable as the latest bag, shoes and dress. And I think they’d look great with a nice co-ordinating outfit. Here’s what I’m going to try…

1. Neon lips

I’m loving Maybelline’s new Colorsensational Vivids lipstick range, especially shade 906, Hot Plum

I think this’d make a fab daytime look, with simple eye make-up and this amazing fluro pink dress from Asos for £38

2. Nude tones

I’m a huge fan of bright nails, but this season I’ve been convinced by the fashion mags to give nude a try. It’s so flattering on your hands.

Models Own has some great shades – try Peach Sherbert, Nyla Nude or Nude Beige (pictured).

Then add a slick of Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss in shade 113

I think this’d be fab with chic separates – I’m thinking a smart top and wide-legged trousers, like this fab combo. The top’s £35 from Oasis and the trousers are £44.99 from Mango at Asos.

3. Electric blue

I’m head over heels for this Topshop Eye Crayon in Kingfisher

I think a slick of that at the beach, teamed with this swimwear set, £32, also from Topshop, is just the ticket, as they share a background colour, but the cool map print makes it a bit more interesting than your usual string bikini.

I’ve bought the eye crayon already, and I reckon the consistency’s hardy enough to withstand a day in the sun!

4. Shimmering metallics

I’ve been looking for a coconut perfume for just about forever. Finally, I’ve found one, and it’s led me to my final make-up/outfit look.

The Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess range – a limited edition for summer – is gorgeous.

It’s not exactly high street prices, but for a real treat, the bronzers, coconut scents and bright eye colours are fab! Check them out…

I’m thinking of pairing it with luxurious evening metallics for my Majorca holiday. If I can’d afford real precious metals, I’ll wear them on my face and clothes instead! how about this Chelsea Girl dress for just £10 from River Island?
