Tis the season to wear trousers

18 Nov

It’s mid-November so obviously I am planning my Christmas party outfit. I’ve done the research (thank you ELLE & Sunday Times Style) and dresses are out. Ladies, for your festive outings this year, it’s all about the trousers. Not any old trousers, but beautiful spangly, velvet trousers.

I’ve invested a little bit of well-earned cash into these slim fitting jeans from Zara. The velvet swirls are quite festive and don’t feel like jeans at all. Also black is a) slimming and b) goes with everything. They are £39.99.

I’m off to Lisbon for my Christmas party (this does make me sound more glam than I actually am) so flats are a  must when staggering from bar to bar. I have bought these Kurt Geiger sparkly flats as they are fun but most importantly COMFY. Note I do not buy/can only window shop Kurt Geiger normally but in ELLE this month there is a 25% discount voucher (30% for subscribers). If you miss this offer you can also type VOGUE25 into KG online for a 20% discount.

If I hadn’t fell in love with my Zara pair, these are the trousers I would be buying instead.

The Mango pair below would look cute with a black camisole and very different shoes! Probably would be good for hiding a big bum – which I will get after too many Baileys and mince pies. They are £35.

I really love these plum trousers from New Look. They are only £10 so very budget friendly. More money to spend on gifts (or more clothes…)

If you are really brave I think these could look amazing too, if paired with a billowing top. These are from ASOS and are only £22.
