Trouser looks for weddings

20 Mar

It’s officially the first day of spring (apparently – feels a bit chilly!), which can mean only one thing: let wedding season commence!

I love choosing wedding guest outfits and, nine times out of ten, I go for a dress. But what about those fashion fans who are less than keen on getting their legs out? The solution: trousers and jumpsuits!

There are some gorgeous spring co-ords, trousers and jumpsuits out there that I’d love to wear to a wedding. Perfect for early spring weddings when it’s still pretty chilly, and also lovely if you’d like to stand out from the prom dresses and fascinators (without upstaging the bride of course!).

Here are a few favourites…

This Asos suit is £28 for the trousers and £42 for the blazer. The best part? You can wear the pieces separately after the wedding – I think the trousers would look great with a white t-shirt and trainers for downtime, and with a polka dot pussybow blouse for work. Meanwhile the blazer is ideal to throw on over a summer dress.

But, for the big day, I’d pair it with this floral cami…

It’s £14.99 from New Look, and includes the shorts.

Prefer your outfit to do the work for you? You need a jumpsuit…

£65, Warehouse. Easy peasy. The beautiful bird print means there’s no need for any other accessories than a simple clutch and shoes.

Prefer to cover your arms?

The kimono sleeves on this jumpsuit from Asos, £45, are perfect for anyone who’s forgotten to do their tricep dips (erm, me included).

Ps. those mules are a dead ringer for Gucci, at about a tenth of the price…

£29.99 from Daisy Street.

Not a fan of jumpsuits? Why not let the trousers take centre stage?

I love these from H&M for £29.99.Crying out for a yellow blouse don’t you think…

This one from Boden is pricey at £63.20, but it’s 100% silk, and you’ll wear it all summer long after the wedding. Pretty with an A-line skirt for work; equally good with denim shorts and a cardi for weekend brunching.

Looking to make an even bigger statement with your trousers?

Voila! With these Zara trousers, at £29.99, a statement is just what you’ll make. The matching top’s £25.99. Very Dolce & Gabbana 2016.

So, are you tempted to ditch the dress for upcoming weddings?
